Frequently Asked Questions
It sometimes happens that a participant does not get a confirmation after registration, but is just registered. Please send an email to classic@cycling4climate.nl so we can check it for you. If you are registered, we will make sure you still receive the e-ticket at the email address you provided.
This is no problem at all. Up to two weeks before the event, you can send an email to classic@cycling4climate.nl to have your old ticket refunged. You can purchase a new ticket yourself in your dashboard.
Nice! Send us an email (classic@cycling4climate.nl) or call during office hours at 030-8774491 and we'll get you set up.
You can register for this summer version of the Tocht der Tochten no later than Sunday, June 11. But beware: full is full...
Choose the same time slot during registration and you'll be fine! Provided you don't lose sight of each other during the tour, of course.
Are you really sure? The Climate Classic is a life changing event, so I would sleep on it. Should you still be really determined that it won't work out this year ... of course we are very sorry.
If cancelled up to 10 days before the event (until June 9, 2023), the cancellation fee is the amount of your purchased cycling apparel. This covers our costs for the shirt and socks (due to pre-order), shipping and handling. If you manage to find a substitute there is no cancellation fee. Please note: the cycling jersey cannot be exchanged in terms of size with a substitute.
Beyond 10 days (from June 9, 2023), the cancellation fee is 100%. In all cases, we will send your reordered merchandise by mail.
Search your mailbox for an email from classic@cycling4climate.nl. Can't find the mail? Send an email with your name and address to classic@cycling4climate.nl. We will look up the tickets for you and resend them to the mail address you provided.
At the start in Breda and in De Bilt you can hand over your luggage to us. We will provide your luggage with a clear tag. You can collect your luggage at the finish. During the tour you cannot access the luggage you gave us. Make sure you have everything you need along the way. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, but an extra bar/banana or gel gel is of course handy to have with you. We don't have time for hunger pangs!
Of course not. Climate change belongs to all of us, so everyone can ride along. Children (up to 18 years old) should always ride accompanied by an adult (18+).
Of course, you can also cycle the tour in pairs (half each): After all, 180 kilometers is also a nice distance. If you then share an electric car, you have solved your transportation and luggage problem too! However, because of food and shirt and socks, you both need to register.
Probably not, so bring a battery pack and charging cord just to be sure!
You are a topper! Of course, we don't want any wasted or unnecessary extra jerseys in the closet. Therefore, the cycling shirt (and other merchandise) is no longer included in the ticket price.
There are many parallels to be drawn between climate change and corona. For example, read this article.
Enough! Every ± 60 km there are break points to recharge. In Breda we start with a banana & coffee. Provide some bars for the stretch towards De Bilt. In Den Bosch there is a rest point where there is also food. In De Bilt the party starts, after all you are almost there ;-). Fresh cake and coffee is waiting for you there. At Telstar Beach club in Harderwijk is lunch: all vegan of course. Between lunch and the finish we provide you with (sports) water and a snack in Zwolle. All this so you arrive fresh in Groningen for the pasta party! All vegan and if not possible at least vegetarian. If you have special allergy/dietary requirements, please let us know during your registration.
Do not wait a moment, but go directly to www.rijne-energie.nl and become a member of the nicest and largest energy cooperative of central Netherlands. Together we are going to make it!
The route will not be signposted. We trust that all participants can get by with a garmin or other bicycle navigation system. The preliminary routes can be found here.
We will still send the final routes and will be on the website. At the break locations there will be simple technical support. So make sure your bike, and yourself, are in top condition!
Depending on the distance you cycle, the route ends in De Bilt or in Groningen. The exact finish locations will be announced at a later date.
The clothes will be waiting for you at the start location. Are you starting in Breda? Then you can pick it up the evening before at hotel Princeville between 17:00 - 18:00 hours. Do you prefer to get your clothes earlier? Then you can pick it up on Friday, June 16 between 9:00 and 17:00 at the following address:
Central Events
Europalaan 2
3526 KS Utrecht
Company teams will be sent their kits two weeks prior to the trip, in coordination with the head booker.
There will be no trains on a part of the Groningen - Utrecht route on Monday, June 19. Plan your return trip via Leeuwarden or book a shuttle bus on time. Allow for extra travel time.
Possibly family or friends will pick you up in Groningen or you will return by train (via Leeuwarden). Because of the work and limited capacity on the trains, we will also use shuttle buses to transport your bike and yourself.
Shuttle service
The shuttle bus costs €40 per person (including bicycle). The fare is the same for both final destinations (Utrecht and Breda). The shuttle service will continue (partly for environmental reasons) if a minimum of 30 participants per shuttle sign up for it. The shuttle service can be booked during registration or by email via classic@cycling4climate.nl. When a bus is full, it leaves.
Public transportation on Monday morning to the start is a challenge because bicycles are not allowed on trains at this time. Therefore, we also offer a shuttle service from Utrecht to the start location in Breda. Arrival: 6:30 am, departure at 7:00 am. So book your start time slot at least from 8:15 so you still have time in Breda to pick up your clothes. Costs are €25,- per person. The shuttle can take place if a minimum of 30 participants sign up.
If you come to Breda by car, park at P2 of the Waterschap Brabantse Delta Breda. Click here to open this location in Google Maps. Alternatively, you can park at Burgemeester Kerstenslaan. You can find that address HERE.
